Shiatsu

Reflexology picture.

Shiatsu treatment is based upon the same principles as Accupuncture. Like all therapies there are many variations in approach to treatment. Our practitioner has many years clinical experience and is able to work with musculo-skeletal imbalance as well as using oriental diagnostic methods to treat health imbalances. Shiatsu is performed on a futon on the floor and you will need to bring along or wear loose comfortable clothing to wear during your treatment.

Reflexology

Reflexology picture.

The sensitive trained hands of the reflexologist are able to detect tiny deposits and imbalances on the feet. Congestion or tension in any part of your foot, mirrors congestion and tension in a corresponding part of your body. Very relaxing to receive; it encourages and stimulates your bodies own innate healing abilities.

Acupuncture

Reflexology picture.

Acupunture has been practised in China for over two thousand years and is based upon links between certain points of the body and it's main organs, such as the heart, kidness or lungs.

When an orgain is affected by illness, these points-abot 300- become senstive. All points in the body are linked otgehter and form pathways or 'meridians' as the thenergy flows through the body.

The art of the acupnuture practitoner is to restore any energy imbalances and unlock the pathways by stimulating the points along them. This stimulation is done either through the use of very fine needles or by applying heat with a technique called Moxibustion.

The aim of the treatment, in addition ot relieving the main symptoms,is to restore overall harmony and the health of the individual. It can therefore be used to prevent illness and enhance general well being.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Reflexology picture.

Cranio-sacral Therapy is a gentle,non-invasive hands-on treatment which realigns the bones of the skull and the base of the spine. The practitioner generally uses no more than 5-grams of pressure (the weight of a penny) to test for torsions and lesions in the natural movement of these bones.By acting as a gentle barrier the practitioner encourages the body's own self-corrective mechanisms to rectify any faults.

Reiki

Reflexology picture.

A very simple form of hands on energy balancing in which the practitioner is a channel for our universal life force. A common experience is one of varying temperatures (often a comforting deep heat) that seems to be emanating from the hands of the practitioner. During and long after the treatment has ended, people report a sense of deep mental and physical relaxation. It should be noted though that a Reiki session is one of surrender to a free flow of energy and that it is possible for all kinds of emotions and physical responses to arise. Reiki is a gentle non-intrusive form of healing. The Reiki energy flows only where invited: consciously or subconcciously. It is a healing that can be given to all ages and all life circumstances.

Stop Smoking Progamme

Reflexology picture.

The stop smoking programme at the Quiet Space is a new and effective approach to stopping smoking and improving your health and well being. It uses a powerful combination of hypnotherapy and acupuncture to guide and support smokers who are motivated and committed to stopping smoking, therefore increasing the likelihood of a successful outcome for those who take a serious approach to the treatment. The programme lasts four weeks and it consists of two hours of hypnotherapy session, four hours of acupuncture and weekly telephone fallow up on your progress. Our Stop Smoking Programme is not a magic cure, it is not within the power of a hypnotherpist power to stop someone smoking, neither is it another way for a smoker to prove that he/she will fail. Commitment and motivation on behalf of a smoker is a key element to this approach. For further details and to apply to join this programme, please email joannapisko@yahoo.co.uk

Hypnotherapy

Reflexology picture.

Hypnotherapy is a rapid and brief therapeutic technique utilising the power of subconscious mind. The key element to successful therapy is a clientâ co-operation. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis, which means that the client is in control at all times and therapist acts as a guide in taking the client into deeper states of relaxation. The marvellous power generated when the therapist and the client work together creates positive and therapeutic changes altering peopleâs lives permanently and for the better.
